Hi there and Welcome to Box Of Smiles. My name is Shane O’Neill and I’ve been making, writing, teaching or performing music and taking pictures for most of my life.
I teach Guitar (acoustic, electric, 12 string, slide, bass, mandolin, etc) and Music Tech too. Dabble with keyboard and woodwind. That’s about it… oh, and percussion. I’m a dead shot with Chinese Block.
I started making tunes when I was about 6 and messed about with photography soon after. A lot of my artwork and that of my friends is in the gallery section and consists of Electronic Art and photo combinations, as well as some other interesting stuff, some of which have been used for various commercially available CDs by various artists.
My musical life is not entirely well-known. That’s not a problem for me though. Every time I produce something new I undergo a name-change, which accounts for some of the anonymity. I rarely gig. I prefer writing, recording and teaching too.
